Fred Astaire Danced on Glass

Something I learned in tap class: Fred Astaire danced on glass. He danced on glass for the clearest sound possible.

Also, Fred Astaire broke a lot of glass.

As much as tap frustrates me ~ I am not as coordinated in actuality as I am in the Ziegfeld Follies of my mind ~ I must keep dancing. I will keep dancing.

My toes wiggle in the wrapping of leather shoes.
There is a gallery of glass ~
The kind with the gold dusted corners ~
waiting to be broken.

Can you think of a better way of making glitter?

Let It Be Resolved (So Let It Be Written and Done)

I know two women
two friends (I am glad to think of them as friends)
in two very different parts of the world,
who have made New Years Resolutions –

If I Had Land (I’d Take Them All)

A Rescued Horse

Life will get better...

If I had land I’d take them all
all the starving ones
and all the old ones
and the young.
And I would repair their bodies,
help them remember
what life’s supposed to be.
I would run with them, I would run in the sun with them
and in the rain.
And when the sun goes down,
I’d walk them to their beds,
tell them stories of the racers
and the heroes,
and fill their heads with dreams.
